Coral?

A selection of feather pictures, some incident light, some transmitted light.  Taken with a Lomo microscope and through wither a Ziess Luminar 25mm F/3.5 or a Lomo Apochromatic 8x Microscope objective.  Field of view between 1.5 and 3 mm

These creatures are quick and as such pretty difficult to photograph effectively.  This one got curious about the camera, so walked towards it.  Normally they just walk away!

A head louse (Pediculus humanus capitus) photographed using a Lomo Microscope, Zeiss Luminar Lens and stacked and edited with Helicon Focus. The detail is brought out by this software in a way I never believed possible.
